An innovative treatment for dry eyes now available – EyePeace Eye Lid Massager

Our Dry Eye Clinic deals with the many many patients who suffer from dry eye, Blepharitis and other conditions of the front of the eye.  One of the most common conditions we see in our clinic is meibomian gland dysfunction or posterior Blepharitis, the symptoms of which include dryness, burning, itchiness, stickiness, red eye and foreign body sensation.   One of the treatments we use to help involves heating the eye with a specially designed eye mask you can use at home and then to gently massage your eyelids to clear debris and blockages from the glands.  Some people find massaging the lids a difficult process.

EyePeace is a new medical device created by two leading consultant ophthalmologists to address the issues of effective lid massage and gland expression in individuals suffering from meibomian gland dysfunction, dry eye, Blepharitis and chalazion.  The device is designed to be a easy to use, non-invasive method of expressing the meibomian glands by massaging in a vertical motion and resulting in the treatment and prevention of dry eye symptoms.

The EyePeace device costs £25 and can be purchased in store.
