What is eSight?

Peter Ivins Eye Care for the first practice in Scotland to offer the eSight 3, during our Low Vision Event in April 2017. The eSight 3 is a revolutionary technology and an engineering breakthrough that allows the legally blind to see. It is being hailed a revolution in sight.  It is a game-changing breakthrough that uses advanced technology, built upon many years of research and development, to replicate sight for an individual who is sight-impaired. eSight enables independence, allowing the legally blind to engage in virtually all activities of daily living.

How does eSight work?

The wearable tech houses a high-speed, high-definition camera that captures everything the user is looking at. eSight’s algorithms enhance the video feed and display it on two, OLED screens in front of the user’s eyes. Full colour video images are clearly seen by the eSight user with unprecedented visual clarity and virtually no lag. With eSight’s patented Bioptic Tilt capability, users can adjust the device to the precise position that, for them, presents the best view of the video while maximizing side peripheral vision. This ensures a user’s balance and prevents nausea – common problems with other immersive technologies

If you have questions please feel free to call the practice on 0141 943 3300 or alternatively email our optometrist Craig McArthur at
