Update from Practice on COVID-19

Following the First Ministers’ announcement regarding changes to the COVID-19 restrictions and the current lockdown we have made some changes to our operating policies.
Opening Hours Update
From Monday 11th January 2021 we will be open in practice from 09.00 to 17.00 Monday – Saturday. Closed on Sunday.
We will however be contactable and on-call 7 days per week if you have questions or develop an eye problem out-of-hours.
We have full access to your clinical records and images remotely and will be offering telephone and video consultations via Skype, FaceTime, Whatsapp and NHS Near Me.
Entry to the practice
We are continuing with our locked door policy. Entry to the practice is strictly by appointment only. Due to the transmissibility of the new strain of COVID-19 entry to the practice requires a mask, with the only exception being under-5’s. Mask exempt individuals will be asked to rebook at a future date unless attending as an emergency. We have considerably cut the number of appointments in a day to ensure adequate social distancing and safe environment for both you as a patient and our team members.
While its not quite business as usual, we are very much still here if you need us.
We will again be prioritising patients with emergency/urgent needs and will be contacting those with conditions where delay in care may be a risk to sight. If you have any concerns about your vision or eye health then please do not hesitate to contact us on 0141 943 3300. Our Eye Care for Life members will continue to receive on-going care and priority access.
As per the government guidance all calls will be triaged by our team to ensure they are eligible for an appointment in person. If you are unsure then please call and discuss with a member of our team. We are still available for phone and video calls for minor issues or for those shielding.
Getting in touch
Call 0141 943 3300 seven days per week for help and advice, even when the practice is closed. We have full remote access to your clinical records, history and images. If out of hours please leave a voicemail with your name, DOB and a description of your problem and we will call back as soon as possible.

Spectacles and spectacle repairs
If you require new spectacles or a spectacle repair we are available and more than happy to accommodate you. Such a visit does however require an appointment. Please call 0141 943 3300 to arrange an appointment with one of our dispensing opticians. Frames are cleaned and sterilised using both an ultrasonic bath and UVC Sterilising unit.
Advice for Contact Lens Wearers
If you pay us monthly for your contact lens supply via direct debit there should be no interruption to your supply. We haved moved for the time being to direct shipping to your home address. If you require contact lenses and order on a as required basis please call us on 0141 943 3300, or visit https://www.peterivins.co.uk/order-contact-lenses/ to order lenses from our website. We are well stocked with contact lens solutions, saline, dry eye drops and lid hygiene products. If you require any please get in touch. We can arrange to have solution posted to you. We also have a contactless collection at the front of the store meaning you can collect solution without having to enter the store.
Advice for dry eye patients
We are well stocked with all manner of dry eye and blepharitis products. If you require anything please call and we can arrange either pickup via our drop box, post or have the manufacturer ship the product directly to your home.
