Quick answer: MiYOSMART iQ has been available to fit at Peter Ivins Eye Care in Bearsden since July 2026 – among the first practices in Scotland to offer it.

MiYOSMART iQ spectacle lenses have been available to fit at Peter Ivins Eye Care in Bearsden since July 2026. As Scotland’s first dedicated myopia management clinic, we’re pleased to be among the first practices in Scotland able to offer this next generation of Hoya’s myopia control lens technology to families across Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire.

What’s New with MiYOSMART iQ

MiYOSMART iQ carries forward the D.I.M.S. technology used in the original MiYOSMART lens, with a Triple Enhanced Design intended to improve on its myopia control performance – including segments positioned closer to the lens centre, increased defocus power, and a wider treatment zone.

“For Scottish families, early access matters because it means we can discuss the newest evidence-based options without delay.” – Craig McArthur, Director and Optometrist, Peter Ivins Eye Care

Booking a Fitting

If your child already wears the original MiYOSMART, or you’re considering myopia control spectacles for the first time, we’d recommend booking a myopia assessment so Craig or one of our optometrists can advise on whether MiYOSMART iQ is the right option. You can also read about how MiYOSMART iQ works in more detail.

Serving Bearsden, Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire

Our practice at 72 Drymen Road, Bearsden has been fitting myopia control lenses since 2013, and was among the first in the UK to offer both the original MiYOSMART and Essilor Stellest on their UK launch dates.
