Optometrist, BSc (Hons) MCOptom DipTp (IP)
Peter practices fulltime within Peter Ivins Eye Care in Bearsden, offering a range of specialist services including ocular therapeutics, specialist contact lens and dry eye management clinics. He works part time in the glaucoma clinic at Glasgow's Southern General Ophthalmology department. He is also part of the teaching faculty at the Johnson and Johnson's Vision Care Institute where he lectures on a variety of subjects to optometrists, opticians and clinical staff from around the UK. He has and continues to lecture extensively in the UK, USA, Australia, China, South Africa and Europe on various subjects including contact lenses, vision in sport and business management. He is the director of Purple Ivy a company offering business as well as clinical skills advice to both independent and multiple opticians.
Peter has lived in Bearsden for over 30 years and is the father of four children. He is a keen golfer and has maintained a single figure handicap for over thirty years.

Optometrist BSc (Hons) MCOptom
Craig is a practicing optometrist with over 10 years' experience in optics. He is based at fulltime Peter Ivins Eye Care in Bearsden. He is a clinical advisor and consultant to a number of companies specialising in macular screening, optical coherence tomography and integration and utilization of technology within optometric practice. Craig has published numerous articles and lectures throughout the UK and Europe on a variety of subjects including macular screening techniques, optical coherence tomography and use of cutting edge technology in optometry.
Craig developed a nationwide macular screening programme for Scotland's largest independent optical chain, the first of its kind in the UK, during which he experienced over 1000 patient episodes in the specialist macular screening clinic. He is currently a consultant with Purple Ivy a bespoke business consultancy, where he offers insight and advice into integrated practice management systems, website design, use of social media and business intelligence. He is also a clinical tutor to 4th year undergraduate students from Glasgow Caledonian University's optometry programme, where he is also a visiting lecturer.
Craig is also a professional musician performing with The Tatties, a Scottish ceilidh and function band. Craig and his wife Jennifer were married near Rome, Italy in September 2012

Dispensing Optician, FBDO
Alison practices in Peter Ivins Eye Care offering a range of specialist services including bespoke made-to-measure frames and custom-made individually tailored spectacles lenses. She has over 20 years experience in optics. She graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1987 and qualified as a dispensing optician in 1988. She is a member of Association of British Dispensing Opticians.
Alison has a real passion for the art of frame fitting; a skill often overlooked in today's modern multiple practice environment. 23 years of experience, incredible patience and highly refined skills make her an expert in this area. Alison has lived in the Bearsden and Milngavie area her entire life. She is the mother of one daughter.

Myra has lived in Bearsden and Milngavie for 35 years. She has worked with Mr Ivins for 16 years. She first joined C Jeffrey Black opticians in 1996, moving with Mr Ivins to Black and Lizars in 1998. Visual field analysis and retinal imaging are Myra's main areas of interest and expertise. 35 years in Bearsden, 14 years in local optics and a photographic memory for faces and names means there are very few of our patients Myra doesn't already know.
Myra is the mother of two daughters and a son, and a grandmother of two.
Customer Service Assistant
Rita (left) has lived in Bearsden for 30 years. She has 30 years retail experience with 7 years in optics. Before working in optics she was involved in the fashion industry as a retail manager with Escada where she was involved in product buying across Europe.

Margaret (right) has lived in Bearsden for 40 years. She has been involved in optics for 7 years. Before working in optics she owned and managed Studio Young a framers and art gallery at Bearsden Cross. She is a founder and previous director of local breast cancer charity BC2000. She has been involved in numerous local committees over the last 40 years.
Margaret is the mother of two sons and a daughter and a grandmother of three.
Dispensing Optician FBDO
Jillian practices fulltime within Peter Ivins Eye Care offering a range of specialist services including bespoke made-to-measure frames and custom-made individually tailored spectacles lenses. Jillian has a passion for perfect spectacle frame fitting, which she feels particularly important in children's spectacles. Jillian also has an interest in Low Vision Aid Assessments and Optical Coherence Tomography.
Jillian attended Glasgow Caledonian University between 2009 and 2012 where she completed her under-graduate degree; graduating top of her class with a BSc in Dispensing Optics. She completed her post-graduate diplopia in 2013 and is now a member of The Association of British Dispensing Opticians and the General Optical Council.

Anna attended The Glasgow Academy where she was deputy head girl and vice-captain of school hockey team, before going on to achieve a BSc (Hons) in Biology from the University of St Andrews. Anna is currently studying towards a BSc (Hons) in Optometry at Glasgow Caledonian University. Anna is actively involved in hockey coaching, volunteer and charity work. She is also involved as a sports tour representative and manages a children's summer activity camp.
Clinical Assistant / Practice Administrator
Kaye brings with her a breadth of experience in optics having previously worked for Black & Lizars and Specsavers in a variety of roles from clinical assistant, dispensing assistant and practice manager. Kaye has university accredited qualifications in dispensing optics and optical clinical from Anglia Ruskin University. Kaye has 10 years' experience in hospitality management having worked in large luxury hotels and restaurants. Kaye combines her clinical and dispensing knowledge with the highest levels of customer service.
